Centering Black Women, Femmes & Girls in Nebraska Policy
March 4 @ March 4 - March 4 CST
Join Ashlei Spivey of I Be Black Girl and the Tiffany Seibert Joekel of Women’s Fund of Omaha as they discuss the ways the two organizations have partnered to advance equitable public policy at the intersection of race and gender.
This virtual event will be focused on the advocacy agenda of I Be Black Girl, including issues such as expanding child care subsidies and raising child care worker wages, expanding access to quality and culturally relevant maternal health services, banning natural hair discrimination in workplaces and schools, addressing the pay equity gap through paid family leave, banning salary history on job applications and supporting Black women and femme founders through capital investment and business resources.
This event will be in partnership with UNO’s 2021 Women and Public Policy Week.
